The Cancer Society takes the health and well-being of our communities seriously. In response to COVID-19 we have decided to postpone our Relay For Life events scheduled between now and the 6th April.
We would like to thank all our event participants, volunteers, and staff for the huge amount of work that has been done to plan and manage these events. We look forward to announcing new event dates when we can.
Relay For Life is one of our major community events that brings people together. We celebrate those who have survived cancer, remember those who have passed away and collectively fight back by raising funds. With the funds raised, the Cancer Society can deliver vital services right across Aotearoa.
We hope to see all participants at the events later in the year. We would like to give you the opportunity to donate your registration fee to Relay For Life, however, if you would like it refunded please contact your local Cancer Society.
Participants should contact their local Cancer Society team who will be able to answer any questions they may have about the event including funds already raised in support of the Cancer Society.
As more people begin to self isolate and distance themselves, we'll need our neighbours support now more than ever before. The following can be printed at home and filled-in with your details to drop around your street or community.

We’re in contact with local health authorities and are following the latest advice from the Ministry of Health. At this stage, the Ministry does not propose altering arrangements for public events. … View moreCovid-19 update: The good health of our all our guests at Relay For Life is our top priority. We’re in contact with local health authorities and are following the latest advice from the Ministry of Health. At this stage, the Ministry does not propose altering arrangements for public events. However, we are asking the following people not to attend Relay For Life:
- anyone who does not feel well, particularly if you have flu-like symptoms like a cough, high-temperature or shortness of breath;
- anyone who has visited mainland China, Iran, Italy or the Republic of Korea in the past 14 days.
We’re taking additional measures at the venue to ensure the good health of everyone who attends. We’ll also be reminding everyone at Relay to follow good hygiene practices. Guests are also encouraged to use their best judgement to determine what is appropriate for their own health and wellbeing.
If there are any changes to Relay For Life, we will communicate these on our Cancer Society Facebook page.

Hi, a brand new skateboard was stolen out of a vehicle parked outside the Kerikeri Skateboard Park on Saturday night (image attached). Please phone or text 027 767 1284 if you have seen it. I imagine whoever stole it will try to sell it instead of using it themselves at the skatepark. Thank you.
