The outgoing Minister of Defence and six-term NZ First MP was one of Parliament’s more colourful characters, but the 66-year-old’s future political aspirations may have come to a close as his party was swept out of power at the weekend.
Mark says he is taking time off and has made no decision about what he will do.

This is what she wrote about her picture.
"It was both beautiful and sobering coming across a nesting kereru (Hemiphaga novaeseelandiae), aka wood pigeon, couple yesterday - I was following a grey warbler at the time. They had set up their twiggy nest in the crown of a punga tree.
The couple were so intensely private I felt like an atheist that had accidentally stumbled into a church or a mosque - big and bumbling and out of place, but in awe and still having a grotesque fascination for the stain-glass windows. I took my photos and quietly left."

Bevis, a resident at Ryman’s Anthony Wilding Village, recently received a gentleman’s makeover. The day began at the barbershop where Bevis and his barber Kohl shared plenty of laughs. Next up, a personal stylist helped Bevis select clothes he looked and felt great in. Being pampered isn’t the norm for Bevis but based on his smile, we’re confident he loved every minute.
