National Volunteer Week (17-23 of June 2018)
celebrates the 1.2 million Kiwis who are volunteering their time and skills to our communities every year.
The theme this year is Volunteers, The Heart of our Community – By many, the work will be completed, Mā tini, mā mano, ka rapa te whai.
We think this captures the essence of what volunteering is about. This is a time to acknowledge how volunteering efforts contribute to and enrich all communities within Aotearoa.

"We have seen so many hidden gems of New Zealand that we would never have seen if we were still living in a house," says Lynette.
Does the idea of selling up to make a big life change appeal to you? What changes would you like to make?

Hi, this bag is very old but very strong and might be of interest to someone who likes old things from the war. It is stiff but should soften with a good soak. I have to give it away now as I have run out of time to keep listing it. If you would like it please pm me.

Great for stuffing pillows, It is a good alternative to plastic pillows. We bought it as offcuts from an organic latex company but we have too much and can't take it with us.

We have 2 beautiful pet pigs that I need to rehouse (as we are moving to a non-lifestyle property). We are currently in Carterton.
Lucky is a female Captain Cook pig (around 5 years old) and Rhonda (Ronnie) is a female peach coloured mini-Kunekune (also around 5 years old). They are our pets that we have raised since babies and are just adorable.
We started training Lucky, who is incredibly intelligent, but we didn’t continue the training due to running out of time with human babies coming on the scene. She is very personable as a result, and would respond really well to more training, or just attention and love! She is like a big friendly dog, and has a great little sense of humour. She loves scratches and wallowing.
Rhonda is adorable. She is really cute and loves to graze and be hosed. She is quite a small kunekune and really gentle. Perfect as a fully-domesticated pig. In fact, I can see her all cosied up in front of someone’s fire.
Both girls currently live together in an outdoor sty with a shed and a run into our orchard. Lucky in particular loves going for short sprints, and Rhonda likes grazing, so some pasture would be ideal.
Although they get on, it’s not necessary to keep them together. They will however need to be rehoused with at least 1 other pig for company.
We are very upset that we have to give up our pets, and all we want is for them to go to a new home that will love and respect them and not use them for food, breeding or dog training!
Are you able to help?

Hi neighbors, please be on the look out for anyone suspicious, a group of 3 or 4 young teens/men tried to break into a house in Perry street today, keep your windows closed and doors locked, they tried a house that looked like noone was home so keep a light on or TV on to deter these scumbags.

Hopefully the police found them.
