Discoloured water in parts of town. Has this affected you?

There have been reports of discoloured water coming out of the taps in Kuripuni-Dixon St areas of Masterton.
Council says a contractor has flushed the mains by running a hydrant. This is normal practice to clear any dislodged sediment in the mains causing discolouration, with the high pressure flow carrying out any lose material.
A council spokesman assured residents that residual chlorine in the system prevents any disease-causing bugs being present in the mains.
Hopefully this has sorted the problem.
