The Civic Centre being the hot topic at the moment. As one of those concerned residents I believe it's time to start up a Ratepayers' & Residents' Association. A group of us are holding a public meeting to see if there is enough interest to formalize an Association. If you are keen to meet us and be part of the discussion then come join us on Thursday 22 July at 7pm Wairarapa Club (Wairarapa Services & Citizens Club), Essex St. If you can't make it but have a burning question email us mrra.info@gmail.com or check out our FB page Masterton Ratepayers and Residents.

On these cold winter days it is a good time to go through those cupboards and drawers to see if you have enough of a stash to hire a table and make a little money or donated to our sales table. If this is not you just mark the 4th September in your diary and come along on the day! We are fortunate that the Carterton Central Lions are running the Fab Cafe again this year, so while you browse you can get a hot drink and some home baking. See you there!

Great to see so many people out supporting the winter activities, especially in Carterton and Greytown. Thanks to everyone who came to my concert at Carterton Events Centre last Friday : "Steve Carlin sings with the Rodger Fox Big Band" - a very special way to kick off the Winter Festival! Get along to Greytown and check out the lights - I'm singing at the White Swan this Friday from 5:30pm. The night market on Saturdays is great too. Pop into Mrs Blackwell's Village Bookshop to pick up a copy of my album "All you need is me" (or from my website stevecarlin.co.nz). Heaps to do in our awesome communities, so get amongst it!
