La Madre is a culmination of two years of creative inspiration. Explore the capabilities of scrap metal materials and delve into this showcase of creatures that capture the darker corners of the imagination.
Daniel Smith Artist Statement:
I sculpt from found items including cutlery, kitchen utensils and construction materials. Inspired by the forms of real animals and fish, I turn humble materials into creatures that might exist in a world a little creepier than our own. I illuminate many of my works to achieve a sinister imperfection as the light spills from cracks and crevices.
