Bush-clad hills, lovely views of Matiu/Somes Island and Wellington Harbour, good coffee – and all yours for only $400,000.
That's the price being sought for Eastbourne's Chocolate Dayz Cafe, which has been put up for sale by owner Sasha Finnigan.

Other than the 'coastal' road the remaining streets are looking sad, lack of proper footpaths, gutters and deteriorating road surfaces on the 'side' streets are progressively getting worse and yet Council gets top dollar in rates. Then the power lines and leaning power posts: they are ugly, need urgent attention and should by now ALL be removed and put underground. A progressive yet urgent plan needs to be actioned. Then the issue of fibre-broadband, 6 years ago we were told... in 6 months.... then this became a year and each successive time asked the time period moved further away. Now it has just jumped again from 2019 to 2020. Considering the local politicians and the ones in government too have espoused the virtues of the 'connected IT Hub of the Hutt' and are aware of the high number of business users, schools etc in the Bays, they have yet to really push the matter with Chorus (the main culprit) who have had the big govt money and delivered nothing. Enough is enough. Time for all locals to start being herd on all these matters instead of being the forgotten suburbs.
