As a part of this, we are working on improvements to a wastewater main that passes through Belmont Regional Park in Lower Hutt, near the Korokoro Stream.
If you are visiting the area between 5–28 February, you may notice diversions on the walkways, and construction activity in the area.
(Please note: If you’re planning to visit Belmont Regional Park on Waitangi Day, the Korokoro walkway will be open as usual with no diversions.)
For two nights, later in the month, we’ll also need to close the walkway completely overnight – we will let you know the exact dates closer to the time.
We apologise for any inconvenience that this construction work may cause. Please bear with us while we complete this project to deliver a more resilient wastewater system for Lower Hutt.

All ferries today have been cancelled.
TRAINS:
Currently, all trains are operating as usual. However, today there have been some bus shuttle replacements in sections of some lines, so be prepared for this possibly happening again. As wind and sea levels rise, this may happen again. Be prepared for some delays as wind may result in speed restrictions.
BUSES:
Currently, all buses are running as usual. There have been a few road closures today with debris falling, however there are so far no stop closures or road diversions. As wind picks up there may possibly be some diversions and delays.

Some of you may have seen me online and around the Wellington region's rivers and lakes! I've been visiting waterways across the region, talking to people about freshwater pests and how they can avoid spreading them. Everyone (from boaties to fishermen and swimmers, as well as campers and hikers) needs to be aware of freshwater pests, because they are easily spread and cause many problems.
I'm going to be popping by a bunch of upcoming Greater Wellington Get Outdoors events this Summer, with my arms filled with the Check Clean Dry packs in between visiting the waterways, so if you see me come say hi and feel free to ask me any questions!
Check out the work that myself and some of my team get up to at www.gw.govt.nz...
