There’s also a new immersive glass viewing area to help people connect with the Chimps and a new children’s playground, inspired by Chimps and how they play. Hutt City Council General Manager of City and Community Services Matt Reid said the report on the learners' pool building, which was added to the main building in 1997, had found it is now rated at less than 20 per cent of the New Building Standards.
While the learners' pool could legally have continued to operate, the council had decided to take a cautious approach and close it. Read more
