Which 'summer' are you having?

The Team Reporter from Stuff

It's been a mixed summer so far for New Zealand. Much of the country has seen record breaking temperatures, drought-conditions and scrub fires. But in recent days the West Coast and Southland have experienced heavy rains, flooding, evacuations and closed roads. Our thoughts are with affected.

Our skies have been coloured by smoke blown over from the Australian bushfires, meanwhile Wellingtonians are just stoked if they get to see the sun.

How has your summer been?

To work with the ongoing bus resource and driver shortage, four of the current suspended services will be serviced by ‘additional’ services. There’ll also be 15 more Route 2 services on the road from 10 February.

These services will have the letter ‘a’ at the end of the route number and will be provided by Mana Coach Services so the buses will look different to the usual Metlink buses which operate this route.

These trips won’t be visible on the RTI or our Metlink website timetable until 8 March, so please see the Service Update for the full list of services. www.metlink.org.nz...

Know before you go and keep up with changes as they happen. Visit Metlink.or.nz or call the Metlink team on 0800 801 700.

Council buying water for library from Just Water

Karl from Alicetown

Couldn’t believe it when I saw water being delivered to the war memorial library by Just Water company. Especially when there is a good source of artesian water just outside the dowse art museum for free. I assume its being paid for by us ratepayers and not being donated by Just water company.

How is it justified given there is a $19.9m deficient for hutt city. Even if Hutt council is rolling in money its not justified.
The mind boggles
