It should come as no surprise we have additional health and safety measures in place in the face of COVID-19 and to reflect Alert Level 2 requirements.
Here are some golden rules for you to follow if you plan to make a trip to take a dip:
✅ Scan in using the NZ COVID tracer app
✅ Keep a two metre distance from others (who are not in your bubble)
❌ Please stay home if you’re feeling unwell – and if you have cold or flu symptoms please get tested!
Our team will be closely monitoring visitor numbers to enforce limits (these vary depending on the size of the facility, but essentially mean we are operating at half-capacity).
Thank you in advance for following the above guidance – it helps us keep everyone safe, and our facilities open for our community to enjoy.

“I’ll only eat dinner 2-3 times a week so that the children have enough food. This is very stressful… a lot of crying and minimal sleep.”
Food insecurity is the everyday reality for 98.8% of the families Variety helps.
Please donate today to provide grocery support for families like Melody’s this Christmas.

"Over the last few weeks, Charlie and I have been keeping an eye on the progress of a bird's nest just by our house. Today, the nest was empty only 20 days later – the birds had all fledged and were hanging about like teenagers in the trees around our garden. Well done mummy thrush; you've been an inspiration."

The corgis are out to prove that furry, foxy and sturdily-built dogs with stumpy legs can indeed scamper at surprising pace.
The event will be held at the Belmont Domain, Lower Hutt on Saturday December 4 starting at 2pm. There will be at least two heats before the finalists battle it out.
The distance on the grassed flat surface is 60 metres. The winner will get a bag of dog food, courtesy of Black Hawk, and the honour of being the Wellington Welsh Corgi Club's fastest dog.
Last year, Freddy a Lower Hutt Pembroke Corgi owned by Alex and Joanne Wang took the honours in a close contest and Freddy will be out to repeat the effort again.
Anyone wishing to enter a Corgi should telephone 021 614 821.

Council is inviting residents to nominate their favourite tree as part of its work on updating the District Plan.
Cr Simon Edwards, chair of Council’s District Plan Review subcommittee says “We want residents to tell us about a tree in their neighbourhood which they believe is special in some way. It could have visual appeal or be of historical, botanical, or environmental value.
“Whichever it is, we want people to help us identify trees across Lower Hutt that are deserving of special care to ensure future generations can enjoy them.”
Arborists will then assess all the nominated trees against established criteria. If the criteria are met the trees could be noted in the updated District Plan, qualifying them for maintenance costs and protected status.
To nominate a new tree anywhere in the urban area of Lower Hutt, you can: complete an online nomination form at hutt.city/notable-trees, or
email greathutttrees@huttcity.govt.nz
Nominations are open until Monday 22 November 2021.
