School Holiday Art Classes at Petone Seaside Art Gallery

Alfred Memelink Artspace Gallery

Attending one of the beginner painting or drawing classes at Petone’s seaside gallery could be one of the most rewarding and satisfying activities youth could do these school holidays. Experienced tutors, Alfred Memelink (watercolour painting) and Kimbra Taylor (drawing), will teach you in a fun and friendly environment in a wonderful classroom overlooking the sea.

No previous art experience is required - these workshops are suitable for both beginners and more experienced watercolour artists who would like to fine tune their skills and style. Each class is 2 hours, either 10 – 12 morning or 1 - 3 in the afternoon. Drop your youth off at our gallery and while you head off for a coffee at one of the many wonderful Petone Cafes whilst we have some fun with art. Pick them up again two hours later with their completed masterpiece to show you which they'll be so proud of and wearing a smile of creative satisfaction on their dial.

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.

This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Do you think this ban is reasonable?
