But when the existing ban on some conservation land was first introduced in the 1990s, mining companies were not able to convert their prospecting permits into a mining license. Neither did they receive any compensation. We need to make sure that this precedent is followed when the Labour/Greens/New Zealand First government introduces its ban on all conservation land. One woman had her younger years tainted by the fact that she shared her name with five others in her class, so she changed it as soon as possible.
Now her daughter Esmee is about to start full-time education but will be sharing her name with two others in her class.
Horrified by this the mother posted to an anonymous parenting site if it would be unreasonable to change her daughter's name.
What do you think?
Has anyone in Franklin had a similar name situation?
What did you do about it?
Please put NFP if you don't want your comment printed.

No-one is bullet proof, falls happen and some can result in broken bones, pain and long healing times and can also make us fearful of falling again. Losing confidence can really affect quality of life.
Live Stronger for Longer strength and balance classes are growing nationwide. Visit www.livestronger.org.nz and join a class near you, you’ll find lots of practical information, advice and resources on how to live an active, healthy and independent life.

With the warmer weather still a few months away, it can be tempting to blast the heater or stay in the warm shower a little longer.
However, heating can be expensive, which is why Terry Johnson took heating into his own hands with his DIY solar heat collector.
Because of this Johnson and his family were able to heat there home for an estimated $1.50 per year.
Will any Franklin DIY fanatics be attempting this heating life hack?
Or do you have your own tricks for cost-effective heating in the winter?
