Last night the concept design for Invercargill's inner city was unveiled. What do you think?

Features of the new development would include:
- Covered car park for 1000 cars split over four levels. Top of car park to be used for events such as a farmers market and car shows.
- Boutique eatery.
- Retail shops ranging from anchor retailer to small boutique store.
- A medical centre with scope to include ambulance bay.
- Open-air laneways that connect the food and retail precincts to the offices and medical centre.
- Outdoor courtyard for people to enjoy.
- Offices and apartments overlooking the CBD.

Do you have a young family member or friend who would want to be a t-runner for the Highlanders vs French Barbarians rugby match being held in Invercargill? The Southland Times is giving away the chance for a youngster to run the ball onto the field at the start of the game at Rugby Southland on June 22.


Runners need to be aged between 7 and 11 years and have a guardian with them to sit side-line with the Highlanders team for the game.

Comment below if you know of a child who would like the chance to do this and we will pick a winner on June 18.
