As much as I love my kid, I'm ready for the holidays to be over. But only because I love working with the little monsters, no matter how loud and crazy they (we) get. Those who have seen me teach at Hilton Brown know this to be true.
I hope you are all ready. Jumpers and jackets all cleaned and aired. Those forgotten lunches hosed out of the bottom of the school bag, and the togs ready for swimming. Yup, I said swimming. Junior swimming lessons start in bout 6 weeks on Monday September 4th. The week after the cross country.
It's going to be a busy term for everyone, so get your rest this weekend and be ready to roar into it next Monday.
And I hope you've all booked your parent teacher meetings. They are the second week of term.
We are also still accepting donations for our fundraiser event in September.

It seems to be so expensive at the moment. The cheapest I could find for 500g was $10. I'm pretty sure not that long ago it was half that. Is there a reason, or am I remembering wrong?

Thanks to all our amazing patients who supported the cause recently in April, helping us raise over $800 for our local SPCA's SPCA Hastings and Districts and SPCA Napier & Hawkes Bay. We look forward to continuing to support they great work they do for the four-legged family members!
Our team at Jennian Homes Wairarapa are all about exceeding clients expectations.
Here the team are with yet another happy hand over with the Van De Lans Family who are delighted with their new Jennian Home.

Year 12 Karamu High School student Nick Palmer, 17, is the New Zealand 2017 youth men's shotput champion and was "pretty stoked" to be named the flagbearer for the New Zealand team at the opening of the Youth Commonwealth Games in the Bahamas. Well done NIck!

Hi, has anyone got any furniture they don't want, for a lovely Malaysian family who are setting up their own home. They could pay if cheap enough. They need 2 double beds and 2 single beds or a bunk bed. Dining table and chairs. Or anything else in reasonable condition and we would pick up. … View moreHi, has anyone got any furniture they don't want, for a lovely Malaysian family who are setting up their own home. Woke up at 5am this morning, to see my son's work vehicle, parked right outside our bedroom window, has been broken into. Various tools stolen. Please be on the lookout for anyone trying to sell the following items:
Stihl TS 500 Concrete Saw (orange and white) with an orange 8mm thick blade with the trolley (also orange and white);
AEG Drill and Impact Driver Set in the box;
Jack Hammer;
Angle Grinder.
Feel sick to the pit of my stomach about this for the cost implications of the missing tools, damage to the work van as well as implications to the job due to the loss of the tools.
Thank you guys.

Three months ago the under bench oven failed and we called in the FP repair guy who found a cockroach had shorted out the pcb on top of the oven. We accepted that it was our fault, so paid the near $250 repair cost. We than sprayed the whole area within an inch of its life to prevent it happening again, but!
Just over a month later the same thing happened again! This is in a new build house! Again we had it fixed, paid the bill and then wrote to FP asking for some help as this seemed very unusual and could be a design fault. They would not even consider any compensation, even though we were just asking for a contribution. So be warned, FP are not a sympathetic company and their customer relations stink!
