Yay, School is OUT!
Yay, I am so excited! School is OUT for us! Another year finished and hooray for the holidays! Took a bunch of kids to Flip Out today for a couple of hours and then back to ours for ice cream and popcorn. Flip Out is a great place to go for a special activity. It is a tad expensive, but they have a ball and no screens involved! And it is physically fun for them too.
We went to Kmart via the sushi shop on the way for lunch.
Thanks to the kind person who found one of our phones and handed it in.
As schools break up and kids, parents and teachers get to have a change of pace and have a rest from the books - I am grateful for the good teachers. The ones who actually do call back when they are asked to, the ones who take time to text you when they know you are wondering how your kids are going, the ones who make your kids feel like they are doing well and the ones who treat kids as people and not just 'bodies to boss around'. I am grateful for the other kids who are good value and good fun and support each other and look out for each other. I am grateful for the parents who make a point of communicating with each other and let each other know things.
And now I am so thankful for the holidays!
Happy Holidays to all you parents and caregivers out there, and to all you teachers out there and all those other vital people who work in schools.
Blessings on you all!
Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
Do you think this ban is reasonable?
