My rant for the day
Is it just me, or is it bloody inconsiderate of bin companies to have their drivers emptying wheelie bins at 4.45am?!
Does that happen every week and I don't hear it, or was this morning special?
I could not believe it. I thought my shed door was banging in the wind and got up to walk across the wet grass, barefoot, in the dark, to check. No, the door was secure. Then, as I walked inside I heard it again, along with the rumble of a diesel engine.
What the h&^%!
I don't know about everyone else's, but my bin company says to have my bin out by 7 am. Who on earth empties wheelie bins in a residential area at 4 bloody 45 am? If anyone can tell me, I'll happily ring the company and complain. I get that the people have a job to do, but that's worse than the courier drivers who used to turn up and ring my doorbell at 5.15am.
Seriously, can they not see it is dark out and most people who don't have to get up that early, or who have/have not been kept awake most of the night with coughing kids, or babies, are STILL ASLEEP and would like to stay that way!
A little consideration would go a long way to making life more pleasant. We already have enough stopping, most of us, getting a decent nights sleep (snoring partners, coughing kids, domestic worries, finances, study, the future, the past etc), without rubbish collectors adding to the strain.
Or, is it just me?!
Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
Do you think this ban is reasonable?
