Our skies have been coloured by smoke blown over from the Australian bushfires, meanwhile Wellingtonians are just stoked if they get to see the sun.

How has your summer been?

This $16,000 increase takes the Hamilton City Council Council Chief Executive salary to $469,000 compared with the New Zealand Prime minister's salary of $471,000. Hamilton City has a population of around 170,000 compared while the NZ population is almost 5 million. At current exchange rates the Hamilton CEO salary is more than that of the Prime minister of Canada , who is in charge of over 37m people .

Ideally the trays would be about half the size of the one in the photo.
It would be nice to have uniformed pots (same size in photo).

We’ve just released our draft 10-year strategy, and we’d like you to tell us if we’ve got it right.

The new draft strategy is geared at pushing us towards our vision for the mighty Waikato of “empowering our people, caring for our place”.

We’re interested in your thoughts on this new vision and whether you think our six strategic priorities – water, climate, biodiversity, coastal and marine, sustainable infrastructure, transport connections – are the right issues to focus our effort on over the next decade.

Please share your thoughts with us. The survey is open until 1 March.
