Any pool, fixed or portable, deeper than 400mm is now subject to safety provisions under the Building Act, meaning there a quite a few rules you probably aren't even aware of.
For example, do you have a 1.2-metre fixed childproof fence with a self-closing gate opening outwards?
What are your thoughts on paddling pool safety? If faced with an inspection, would your pool set-up pass? Do you think all these rules are essential? What are your tips for setting up a paddling pool safely?

Hi, I’m Sophie and I’m 9 years old.
Ever since I was 4, I have been asking Mum if I can have a market stall to make and sell things. Finally, she has said yes!
We have been learning about sustainability at my school, and I wanted to make something that would help reduce waste. When my mum ran out of her cotton wool pads that she uses for her makeup, she thought she might make some out of cotton, instead of buying a new packet. I asked if I could help, and had so much fun I decided to make them for my stall.
Mum has also knitted some out of cotton that are nice to use as well.
I hope you will buy some of my swipes so I can keep having fun sewing them, and help you make less rubbish.
If you’d like to buy some, just send my mum a private message, or contact me on my Facebook page (search for Swipes by Sophie)
Thanks!
Sophie

“We know more and more people are commuting between Hamilton and Auckland, and introducing this trial service will give them a choice in how they do that,” Minister Phil Twyford said.
The business case allows for the fit-out of rolling stock and the detailed design of infrastructure. The total cost of the five year trial, including the service operated by KiwiRail, is estimated at $78.2 million, including $68.4 million from the NZ Transport Agency and $9.8 million from local authorities.
It would stop in Hamilton at Frankton and The Base in Rotokauri before going onto Huntly and finally stopping in Papakura in Auckland, where passengers can change onto the Auckland Public Transport Network. Future stops may include, Te Kauwhata, Pokeno and Tuakau.
A new station including a platform and Park & Ride parking area will be created as part of the Rotokauri rail stop and the Huntly platform will need to be upgraded.
Well done all those who worked hard to make this happen.

I’m wondering if there is someone who would be kind enough to help my daughter and I out please. In my garage I have a double bed base and a very delicate unit which we need to transport from my property to hers. Her partner has lost his licence, she is on her learners and none of their friends are prepared to help them out.
She has asked on Facebook on Pay it Forward, gift it forward, but people are telling what to do and not offering any help. If someone could help out I would appreciate an awful lot.
Thanks
