Hi neighbours,

Chicken is a popular dish for many Kiwi families. But are you happy to pay the extra cost for free-range or organic chicken? If so, why do you fork out extra for it? Although buying free-range chicken might be an ethical choice for many, it's not necessarily any healthier than other chicken.

As part of a new Stuff series, we look at why chicken is so cheap to buy nowadays, what happens inside the barn, why chickens get so big and the use of antibiotics in chicken feed. To learn more about what happens to your chicken before you put it in your shopping trolley, click the links above.

I have no idea whether other regions have 7day a week centres but regardless, to me this is absolutely unnecessary. Surely it will encourage parents to leave their children at the centre longer, instead of the parent/caregiver having to make adjustments to make sure they are home for their children. Longer hours, more days, where will it end? At the forefront of this is NOT the wellbeing of the children, nor their intrinsic rights as a child; it is about greed pure and simple. The Early child Industry is an extremely lucrative industry and much of the profit is NOT channelled back into ensuring that ratios are reduced, resources are continually changing and increasing in number, nor does it ensure that children at these centres are continually exposed to exciting and stimulating visits to places of interest. As always, the emphasis is NOT on the reason for the centres existing in the first place, The Child.

Leticia loves that her role gives her clients more time to spend on the running of their business or Trust. She enjoys the variety of jobs she is involved in - "one minute I’m doing wages, the next I’m sorting out a tax issue, then on to dividend payments - my day is never dull."

She also says her colleagues are awesome, they all have a laugh together and support each other with any issues.

Out of work she is a St George Illawara Dragons Rugby league fan, and enjoys watching all rugby league, especially the women and the Warriors (when they aren’t playing the Dragons). She enjoys attending Chiefs home games, watching the All Blacks and the rugby sevens. But her dream holiday doesn't involve rugby or league - she'd love to be sitting on a beach in Rarotonga or the Gold Coast – Rarotonga, as this is where her son and partner have heritage. And the Gold Coast because her best friend lives there and she'd love to go over for about a month and just chill and enjoy the beautiful weather with her and enjoy some cocktails. 🍸
