Two women and a man died in the two-car crash shortly after midnight between Saturday and Sunday on Mangaharakeke Drive, just east of Grandview Road. Two other people were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Midwives would give notice from Wednesday of two-hour work stoppages every day on every shift over a two-week period, starting Thursday, November 22.
