Where in the world is Barry Kloogh?

That's the question out-of-pocket investors have been asking since investigators raided the financial adviser's business in May.

They have since discovered that two of his companies – Financial Planning Ltd and Impact Enterprises Ltd – have been liquidated, owing more than $12.5 million.

The investigation – led by the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) – has so far raised more questions than answers for anxious investors who fear they have lost everything in an apparent Ponzi scheme.

Stuff went looking for clues with the aim of asking what happened to their money. Stuff found him hiding in plain sight on Tuesday – in a modest rental home in Dunedin, with two luxury cars parked outside.

Dunedin is the latest council in the country to offer its workers a living wage, which will make a difference to the wider community, supporters say.

The city council is one of more than 150 employers signed-up to pay a living wage – $21.15 an hour – to employees and contractors, following the example set by Wellington City Council. The Auckland Council announced on Sunday it would offer the wage to its workers, but was yet to extend the offer to contractors.

Paying the living wage put money into the pockets of workers who would then spend it in their local community, making it a "win-win", Living Wage Movement Aotearoa New Zealand accreditation coordinator Felicia Scherrer says.

Did you know, 1 in 4 New Zealand adults will suffer from a mental disorder or distress at some point in their lives? When they do, let’s make sure they never have to go it alone. To create safer, more caring communities we need to not only look after ourselves but those around us as well.

For the month of September, we want to use our voice to raise awareness for mental health and well-being. Perhaps consider sharing a cuppa with someone you know who could use the support or challenge your family and friends to unplug from social media for the entire month to improve their well-being. If you or someone you know is going through a rough patch, don’t forget you can call or text 1737 anytime for FREE support from a trained counsellor.

Don’t forget, this month also coincides with World Suicide Prevention Day (September 10th) followed by Mental Health Awareness Week (23 - 29 September) and Mental Health Awareness Day on October 10th.

However you choose to take part, feel free to tag us in your posts + use the following hashtag so we can see how you’re cultivating better mental health for yourself or in your community this month:
