Born 30th July 1949, passed away overnight on the 13th June, in her home. Beloved daughter of Rex (dec) and Val (dec) of Gisborne, special sister to Wendy, Morris and Michelle (dec). Jill (aged 73) has lived life to the full, touched many hearts, and is known locally in Paeroa as "Nana Jill". Jill is greatly loved and will be dearly missed by her best friend and husband Keith; her children Kerry; Kim; Tane and wife Clare; Liam and Lauren; her many moko’s and great-moko’s, along with loved nieces and nephews. Jill is lying at rest at home. On Friday afternoon, 16th June, we will take Jill to AgriSea 7446 State Highway 2, Paeroa where she will lay in state overnight. A Service to Celebrate Jill’s life will be held at 1.00pm Saturday, 17th June, at AgriSea, followed by her burial at the Paeroa Cemetery. At Jill’s request please wear bright colours if you can and be ready to celebrate her incredible life. On June 12, 2023, peacefully after a short illness at Lady Wigram Retirement Village, aged 89 years. Dearly beloved wife of the late Ray (d. 1973), dearly loved mother of Lorraine, Garry (deceased), and Ross, dearly loved mother-in-law of Ross Gray, a much loved aunt, and a loved friend of many. The family wishes to express its deep gratitude to Mona, Nina, Sajitha, and the entire nursing and caring staff of Cashmere View Care Home, especially the Ashgrove wing, for their dedicated and loving care of Gwen; also the reception staff, nurses and doctors of The Doctors, Christchurch South; the pharmacists of The Pharmacy, Christchurch South; Sonja, Joanne, Stephanie, the District Nurses and Health Care NZ carers, the staff at Cashmere View Retirement Village and Gwen’s many wonderful neighbours and friends.
