Passed away peacefully in the presence of family at Rita Angus Retirement Village, Kilbirnie. Dearly loved wife of Frank Mansell (dec). Much loved mother, grandmother, great & great-great-grandmother to Maureen Mansell and Michael Snowden, Carl, Leane, Abigail and Emily Gordon, Peter and Sarah Gordon, Kevin Mansell, David and Margaret Mansell, Peter, Bobi, Jake and Ruby Mansell, Tiffanie and Tabbitha Peete, Christine, Peter and Kris Zivkovic, Emma, Jeremy and Lucy-Jane Lord, Anne, Shaun and Mark Redmond, Jason Redmond and Charlotte Carew, John, Jayme, Tamika, Taila, Addison, Payton and Bella Mansell, Penelopy and Fonncya Mansell, Allan Mansell and Delwynne Walsh. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Mary Potter Hospice would be welcomed and may be left at the Mass. Requiem Mass for Margaret will be celebrated in the Church of the Holy Cross, cnr Miramar Avenue and Hobart Street, Miramar, Wellington, on Monday 17 April 2023 at 11.00am, interment thereafter at Makara Cemetery.

MERCER, John Douglas

Much loved Father, Brother, Friend and Scrapper, John Douglas Mercer passed peacefully on 7 April 2023 with family by his side. A memorial will be held at Stratford Speedway clubrooms, May 13, 2.00pm. The clubroom cash bar will open after the formalities for friends to remember Dr John while gathered together.

Aged 69. On Thursday 6th April 2023, peacefully at home. Dearly loved son of the late George and Beryl Chandler, brother of the late Bruce of Te Aroha, much loved brother of twin sister Annette, brother of Ian, and loved uncle of their families. A service to celebrate Alan’s life will be held at 2.30pm on Friday 14th April, Woodhill Chapel, 167 Grange Rd, Otumoetai, Tauranga.

Aged 67, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2023. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and wife to Dale McGeorge. The Funeral Service for June will be held in Mainland Crematorium, 25 Hawdon Street, Sydenham, on Thursday April 13 at 3.00pm, private cremation thereafter.

Passed away peacefully at Glenbrae Village Rest Home and Hospital on Tuesday 11th April 2023 in Rotorua. Cherished mother of Paul and Marie. Loved nana of Haidee, Tegan, Cameron, Luis, Rowan and Jordyn. Great-grandma to Brooke, Jacob and Riley. On April 4, 2023, aged 85,
at Charles Upham Village, Rangiora. Dearly loved wife of the late Roger Thomas, loved sister of Garry and Peter (both deceased), and daughter of the late Hilda and Frank. Pauleen’s unique and forthright self will be much missed by her remaining family and her many friends from Charles Upham Village, Rangiora, and also Albert Town, Wanaka and Stewart Island. Brian passed in his sleep at Atawhai Assisi Tamahere. Dearly loved husband, for over 70 years, of Jessie. Father and father-in-law of Wayne & Jenny, Noel & Janet, the late Sandra, Lance & Debbie, and Darryl & Ely. Special father to Donna & Sam. Grandfather to David, Geoffrey, Kym, Tara, Sydney, Olivia, Shauna, Brianna & Elijah, and great-grandfather of Lucas & Annabel. Thanks to the staff at OPR Ward 5 Waikato Hospital and Atawhai Assisi for their care and compassion. A celebration of Brian’s life will be held in the Seddon Park Chapel, 49 Seddon Road, Frankton, Hamilton, on Monday 17th April, at 1.30pm. Brian’s service will be live-streamed. MORRIS, Gwenyth Elsie (Gwen) (née Tanner)

Gwen died peacefully on 9 April 2023 at Lansdowne Park Rest Home, Masterton, aged 81. Although Gwen remained proudly Australian, she was a great advocate for ‘bright and breezy’ Palmerston North, where she lived from 1986 to 2020. Her children Ewan and Merey will remember Gwen as a person of strong determination and individuality, who loved gardens, birds, cats and books. She was nanna to Abigail and Poppy, and sister to Jean (dec), Jack (dec), Les, Nancy and her twin sister Dulcie. Wife of Roger from 1966 to 2006. In lieu of flowers, donations to Arohanui Hospice would be appreciated. A memorial service for Gwen will be held at the Beauchamp Funeral Home, 167 John F Kennedy Drive, Palmerston North, on Monday 17 April 2023 at 11.00am.
