Auckland motorists are advised that northbound lanes of the Northern Motorway (SH1) will be closed for maintenance on Thursday night, 11 July.

The northbound lanes of the motorway will be closed between Oteha Valley Road and Silverdale from 10pm until 5am. Please note that the BP Service Station Dairy Flat and other shops will also be closed.

NZTA is advising drivers heading north to plan head and allow extra time for their journey. Read more about the closure here.

The Government has proposed a sweeping fuel-efficient vehicle policy that would make some cars up to $8000 cheaper - while others would be $3000 more expensive.

The "feebate" scheme wouldn't cost the taxpayer anything, instead using money gained by putting a fee on imported high-emissions cars in order to make imported hybrids, electric cars, and other efficient vehicles cheaper with a subsidy.
