Charity quiz night

The Ingwavuma Orphan Trust Fund of NZ is holding a charity quiz night this Saturday at 6pm at St Christopher's church. Entry is $15pp and includes supper. Teams of 6-8. A hearings panel has declined changes needed to make way for a $35.7 million pool and library to be built at Christchurch's Denton Park.

The changes are a major blow to the proposed project – Denton Park's management plan and land classification needed particular changes to allow the facility to be built.

The council received 1444 public submissions on the proposals and 84 per cent of those opposed the changes to the Hornby park.
