Fundraiser Quiz Night

Faye and Julian from North New Brighton

Come along for an evening full of laughs with a twist of good old fashioned rivalry!
Big Brothers Big Sisters provides a free mentoring programme to disadvantaged young people in our city, by recruiting and training volunteer mentors from the community.
Each mentor is then matched with a young person whom they spend one session a week with for a minimum of one year. The relationship that grows between the two builds confidence and self-esteem within that young person. Big Brothers Big Sisters staff provide the necessary accountability and support for the volunteers to support a young person.
Big Brothers Big Sisters, in conjunction with Christchurch Casino and Sixty6 on Peterborough, is hosting a Fundraising Quiz Night to raise money and awareness for this fantastic programme.

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.

This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Do you think this ban is reasonable?

Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.

When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
