The New Zealand National Anthem is a prayer, in some of the lines of this prayer it states,
Men of every creed and race,
Gather here before Thy face,
Asking Thee to bless this place,
God defend our free land.
From dissension, envy, hate,
And corruption guard our state,
Make our country good and great,
God defend New Zealand.
Peace, not war, shall be our boast,
But, should foes assail our coast,
Make us then a mighty host,
God defend our free land.
Lord of battles in Thy might,
Put our enemies to flight,
Let our cause be just and right,
God defend New Zealand.
Let our love for Thee increase,
May Thy blessings never cease,
Give us plenty, give us peace,
God defend our free land.
From dishonour and from shame,
Guard our country's spotless name,
Crown her with immortal fame,
God defend New Zealand.

As it's cooling down I thought I'd repost this for my sons.
My sons are off to Australia with their Shirley Boys High cricket team in September and I am making them raise half the cost of their trip.
Even though its summer and hot hot hot....winter will come around sure enough.
They are taking orders for boxes of kindling. The details are below:
Each box is 45cm X 45cm X 18cm
The timber is non treated oregan and can be split in half or used as it is.
There is approximately 85 pieces in each box!
Cost is $10 per box or $25 for 3 boxes.
If you live in Chch city limits and pre-order 5 boxes or more we can drop them around to you at a time that suits.
Alternatively they can be picked up from Burwood or Harewood (Near Bishopdale)
Its a super cheap price and the oregan burns fast and hot!
Negotiable

My recent fostering experience.
I recently fostered Miss Grayson for 2 1/2 weeks (see photo of grey female kitten below). She was about 12 weeks and had been desexed and had been in our intake centre for over a month. This means she was in a crate and although she was getting cuddles and her crate cleaned twice daily from the volunteers cleaners, it is not the same as having one on one love and care and freedom in a room of her own, before she get adopted to her forever home. She was adopted last Tuesday and I have now had updates from her owners and she is being showered with love and affection and has two feline siblings.
Due to the inn being so full, I thought I would help again, so on the following Wednesday, I picked up two black 6 week old kittens (both undesexed) named Bonnie and Buster. They are adorable and providing me with lots of distraction and entertainment during this sad time in Christchurch. I will have them until they are of the correct weight and can be desexed and put up for adoption on trademe, which maybe 2-3 weeks.
If you have a spare room, lots of love to give please go and apply on the link above and register to be a fosterer. Someone will ring you up and have a phone interview with you and the process will begin there.
If you have filled out the form and no one has gotten back to you and you still can foster, please pm this page and I will go into our volunteer data and check that the information has gotten through and will prompt someone to give you a ring.
We have more kittens coming into intake daily and are running out of room. We need your help to help them.
