I know everywhere is taking items to go to Kaikoura but here in New Brighton we are also donating so if any of you know someone that is not on Facebook - please send this to them. Below is a list of things that will be going to Kaikoura - there are around 7 helicopters going tomorrow:-
Eastsiders - remember back in February 2011 when the people of New Zealand humbled us with their support, kindness and love? Well, now it's time to pay that kindness forward.
In conjunction with the response by Miss Lilly's in Rangiora, there are helicopters heading north for the next couple of days and we want to fill them with goodness.
WHAT WE NEED:
FOOD. Baking, canned good, non-perishable food supplies, pet food. Please LABEL any baked goods with ingredients to help us cater for people with food allergies (or if you are specifically baking for a particular allergy, please label your goods).
PET FOOD: animals are important too. cat food and dog food please. Also budgies, rabbits - you name it!
TEA/COFFEE/COCOA: anything that will help here including sugar, UHT milk or powder, etc
NAPPIES: Any kind of nappies would be appreciated
SANITARY ITEMS: Ladies, the women up north are going to get a bit desperate, so pads, tampons, and the like will be gratefully appreciated. Also, HAND SANITISER if we can get it...we ALL know how important that stuff is!!!

I am reliable, honest, organized and have experience with pets since I have my own rats I look after every day. I can feed and play with your pet so it won't be lonely. I will clean their cage (if they have one). I can also walk your dog.
I can look after cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and basically any pet, of course with my mum's or dad's supervision, but I'll mostly do the work.

Would love to see you all so search out for those coins behind the couch, in the washing machine, in the jacket pockets or at the bottom of the purse or wallet. If anyone donated a dollar each, it would be amazing. A little helps when a lot donate.
Also go to our facebook page and see the call out for participants in our December KITTEN CUDDLES promotion. Get your business registered (cost of $50) and our volunteers will bring out kitten to your business for cuddles. What a great way for your boss to distress their staff before xmas, Search under Cat Rescue Christchurch in facebook and we will pop up. Make sure you like us as we are also crafting cat related items for sale for Christmas gifts.
What fun are our volunteers having at the moment.
Have a great day folks, and be generous with time, money and of course your smiles.

"I have a lady in my neighbourhood who is keen to track down a Helen Matherson (maiden name) who once lived in the Wanaka region.
The lady from my neighbourhood is arranging a reunion of those who worked at the Pompolona Lodge on the Milford Track, in the Fiordland National Park back in the 1980s.
The Pompolona Lodge Staff Reunion is taking place in January 2018 and I believe most people have been located, except this one person - so the search is on for Helen Matherson!"
Thanks.
Terrie - Kensington Lead
Hopefully Helen, a family member or someone who knows the Matherson family may see this and make contact? Contact can be made to a Lead who can then pass it on to Terrie - (Kensington Lead)
