Sean Pawson and Josh Geddes are committed to riding their bicycle rickshaw over the Southern Alps in aid of mental health services. It's a long ride with a heavy load and a punishing uphill climb.
Could you make the crossing? Would you even be game to have a crack?

We love kids at Fitclub. Toys and snacks are available to keep them occupied while you work out - contributions to the communal snack table are welcomed but NOT compulsory. We have a great little group of 'regulars' aged from around 18 months to 4 years so your little one is sure to find a friend.
Everyone's welcome at Fitclub. We offer a fun, encouraging, no-judgement environment for you to pursue your fitness goals. We'd love to see you there!
Search 'Fitclub at the Hub' on Facebook to find us and learn more about our FOUR fitness sessions each week! Or email hub.fitclub@gmail.com with any questions.

We wonder if anyone was nearby and saw or heard something? We are located in the former St James church building on the corner of Barrington and Bewdley Streets in Spreydon.
Among the items taken was a till - perhaps this has been discarded nearby and someone might have seen it? Other items taken were hard drives from our server - very specific pieces of computer related equipment.
Any information about the burglary, the till or our hard drives would be very appreciated and can be given either to the police or to us here at addington.net. You can contact us on 962 7244 or email us on info@addington.net.nz
Thanks from all of us here at Addington.net

Rotary International is a service club like no other. We serve in this community and thousands of other communities around the world. With 1.2 million members in over 35,000 clubs globally, Rotary is well placed to reach out when a positive outcome is desired or needed. Christchurch has over a dozen Rotary clubs made up of members just like you and me. People wanting to put something back into our community at many levels.
So what have we at Rotary Club of Christchurch South achieved of late?
Prior to Christmas our Club will again sponsor a Christmas party for all the children at a local decile 2 school. Each child received a small present and a personalised greeting from Father Christmas. Food and drink was also provided making it a fun afternoon for all.
And what of the past? What has Rotary achieved? How’s this for starters…
Locally:
Community donations, community building projects, public environmental seminars, student exchanges, youth development, school speech contests, charity collections, medical research assistance, vocational interaction and much much more.
Nationally:
Crippled children’s Society (CCS), First Health Camps, First Karitane hospital, Defensive driving courses, Kidney Foundation, Riding for disabled, Asthma Society, First mobile TB clinic, Milk in schools, Outward Bound, Ellerslie flower show!
Internationally:
In partnership with the World Health Organisation Rotary has played a major role (over $1b NZD donated) in the now almost-eradicated disease, polio. Peace scholarships, Group study Exchanges, Ambassadorial scholarships, Youth exchanges, Conflict resolution, Literacy and education, Water projects and much more.
Interested? The Rotary Club of Christchurch South meets on most Wednesday evenings, 6pm, at the Cashmere Club in Colombo Street, Beckenham. Please come and join us for a meeting or two and see if Rotary is an organisation that interests you. Call Alan Airay on 027 895 5409 or 337 0835 and he will confirm meeting dates. E-mail airay@xtra.co.nz if preferred.
We look forward to meeting you and extend the hand of friendship and fellowship in the name of Rotary.
