North Island Mussel company is fined with over $250K after worker loses eye in an accident which could have been prevented if they were following the correct Health and Safety procedures.
From that amount only $60K is reparation for the worker which is way too low for an injury that will affect his life forever. The injury was so bad that not even a prosthetic eye could be fitted.

Christchurch Family Support co-ordinator Margaret Hewitt-Hawker says Saturday's event is a chance to acknowledge these children and celebrate their lives with other heart families.
