Following their 2015 sell-out performances of Sleeping Beauty, Moscow Ballet "La Classique" makes a triumphant return to Australasia with Swan Lake - a spellbinding classical romance.

"The greatest success of Russian theatre is undoubtedly classical ballet."

The most splendid ballet of all time is brought to life by Tchaikovsky's masterpiece score. From the moon-lit lake where elegant swans silently glide to the magnificent opulence of the palace ballroom, Odile, the temptress in a cloud of black tulle, provides a ravishing counterpoint to the purity and innocence of Odette, the beautiful swan Queen. A fairy tale story of a tragic romance. The unrivalled skill and pathos of the famous Moscow Ballet "La Classique" is a visual feast.

See their performance in Christchurch on Monday 1st May 2017 in the Isaac Theatre Royal. Click here to book or call (03) 377 8899.

Wellington North Community Patrol
Our purpose is to empower communities to prevent crime and create safer environments through the utilisation of trained and equipped volunteer patrols. In the November storms last year, we were on the road checking slips, directing traffic and clearing debris. The patrol needs funds to maintain its patrol vehicle - including ongoing petrol costs. Patrol members are also required to wear high-viz vests and currently we do not have sufficient on hand to allocate to each of our patrollers. VOTE NOW!

Surrogate Grandparents NZ
I have started up a non profit organisation called Surrogate Grandparents NZ who's aim is to unite families who may not have their own Grandparents close by, or are no longer alive with "Surrogate" Grandparents. It will provide support for families with young children as well as being companionship for the older generation who may be lonely and away from their own families. VOTE NOW!

Over the course of her lifetime, a woman may ingest as much as three kilograms or seven pounds of lipstick into her body. She absorbs it through the skin of her lips, or swallows it when she eats or drinks. So we formulated these lipsticks with ingredients that are not only safe to consume – but actually healthy!

These healthy ingredients feature some of Nature’s finest superfoods:

Avocado oil: Packed with essential fats, vitamins and minerals, our ‘Green gold for skin’ helps to increase collagen production and keep your lips beautifully dewy and fresh.

Calendula oil: Healing oil from the marigold flower has anti-inflammatory properties.

Evening primrose oil: This edible oil is so rich in healthy fats it’s used as a natural dietary supplement.

Argan oil: The Moroccan nut oil balances oil production and hydrates lips for a soft, moist finish.

We also added antibacterial beeswax, deeply moisturising Shea butter and jojoba oil, and even extra Vitamin E for extra lip nourishment. All of our lipstick ingredients are from natural origin, with only low levels of FDA-approved colour pigments added for vibrancy.

Certified vegetarian

Moisture-Boost Natural Lipsticks are certified vegetarian by the UK Vegetarian Society (VegSoc). This is the oldest and most respected vegetarian organisation in the world. The only animal by-product we use in our lipsticks is beeswax – a sustainable ingredient from lovingly-kept bees.

It was one of the most violent earthquakes ever felt. Arriving by stealth after midnight on November 4th, the magnitude 7.8 Kaikoura earthquake and its aftershocks shook NZ’s heartland to its core and creative a damage zone of epic proportions.

Radio NZ’s Phil Pennington was on the job minutes after the earthquake, capturing the drama as it unfolded. His book, Surviving 7.8, is a tough but fascinating study of resilience. It includes stories from the people affected – locals and tourists alike – covering the immediate reaction, the uncertainty and the turmoil, as well as the do-it-yourself attitude and steely resolve that defines who we are as Kiwis.

Sales of Surviving 7.8 support the New Zealand Red Cross November 2016 Earthquake Appeal.

This is the second day of showcasing two of our AMI Community Grant finalists to share a bit more about the great work that they're doing in Kiwi communities. You can help support these organisations by voting for them to win their share of $20,000.

North Shore Initial Response Trust
Every week we voluntarily train to prepare for disasters when emergency services require additional support in searches for missing people, sandbagging to protect properties from flooding, and helping limit damage to people and properties following events such as tornadoes, storms and tsunamis. As a group of volunteers, we are not paid for any of this activity. Since the equipment is exposed to extreme weather events and difficult environments, it regularly needs to be replaced. There is some vital equipment we are in need of in order to be able to continue our dedicating our time to helping keep people safe. VOTE NOW!

Riverton Community Garden Project
Our goal is to create a self-funding, sustainable food producing garden that can eventually start to give back to those most in need within our community, such as struggling families, and the elderly. We rely on various age groups to look after the garden, including the Riverton Primary School, Aparima College (local high school) and Riverton Childcare and other local volunteers. We are seeking funding to establish infrastructure to support the garden for many years to come. VOTE NOW!
