Using the metro planner, I found that I would need to take 2 buses. To get to work by 8am, I would need to board the first bus at 5.56am. That's more than 2 hours!
The complete trip by car takes 20 minutes which, ironically, is the amount of time I would need to spend walking to/from bus stops.
So, there you go... That's why I don't use the bus.

Another team of Kiwi adrenaline junkies will attempt to crack a record-breaking 320kmh this week, on a motorbike built in a Christchurch shed.
Between Friday and Sunday, 56-year-old UK ex-pat Phil Garrett will try to set a New Zealand motorcycle land speed record, tearing down a closed McCrorys Rd in Pendarves, near Ashburton.
Alongside fellow drivers Rob Small and Des Bull, he will tackle the feat on a 46-year-old motorbike, one almost entirely rebuilt in his Burwood garage by hundreds of people.

She began at 10am on Friday.
"After seeing Youthline on the news recently I felt I had to do something. Youthline has been inundated with calls from struggling young people since lockdown last year. Mental health is so important and shouldn’t be overlooked," Emma says.
"After struggling with my own mental health in the last few years I know how hard it is to reach out for help. Having an organisation that you can call or contact online is hugely important for young people today."
