Mainland Big Band at the Cashmere Club
Are you tired of spending every Saturday night at home and feel that there is nothing out there for the Baby Boomers? then you would be wrong!
The Mainland Big Band will be playing again in the Sports Hall at the Cashmere Club on Saturday 2nd March (this Saturday). This is a large 16+ piece band featuring saxophones, trumpets, trombones, flute and vocals, supported by a 4-person rhythm section. The Band has a wide repertoire of music from Big Band and jazz standards, show tunes, 50’s rock’n’roll, 60’s and 70’s pop and rock, 80’s disco and into the new millennium. If you want to relive the music of your youth or would simply enjoy music that is designed to get the feet tapping and dancing then come and join the crowd! Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
