We welcome you and your families to join us next Friday 13th April for the opening of our Emergency Hub at St Marks Church / Hall in the car park area.
Please see the full flyer for further details - join this event page and be updated for further info closer to the event.
For example: We have received confirmation today that the Cashmere High School Jazz band is unfortunately unable to perform related to the tragic passing of Tom Fastier (a Year 13 CHS Student who was part of the band apparently). Our SCERT Committee wishes to pass on our sincere thoughts to the band members and Tom's family members / friends affected by his tragic passing last week.
Otherwise this event hopes to be a great way to connect further with our community groups and local families prior to the start of the April School Holidays.

If you can assist with this event or any of the Community preparedness packages in plastic bags to be distributed to all local families - we would also love to hear from you please!

Thanks to those of you who have already offered to assist!!

Otherwise come and find out how our SCERT committee has best decided to make our community more connect and prepared for any future emergency situation!! We never know when SCERT may be needed!!?!

Regards Julie Tobbell.

Hey everyone!

Tomorrow (April 3) at Fitclub at the Hub we're kicking off our second 8-Week Fitness Challenge for 2018.

Our 8-Week Challenges are a way for us to challenge ourselves to achieve the body transformation so many of us are aiming for.

Here's how it works: we weigh in, measure body fat and muscle mass, and take a set of measurements during the first week of the challenge; attend as many Fitclub sessions as possible over the eight weeks; work on brushing up our nutrition at the same time; encourage each other both in person and in our Facebook group; and at the end of the eight weeks we collect the same data and check out how far we've come!

We've decided on a twist this time - there will be a $10 entry fee for this round of the challenge which will become the prize pool for our top achievers! All funds will be returned to the participants. Class tomorrow (April 3) will be free, just pay your entry fee - you can still join the challenge and pay your entry fee by Saturday April 7 but normal class fee of $2 will apply on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday as well.

Come join a great group of motivated, friendly local women in a fun, kid-friendly environment and get started on your fitness goals! We have four sessions each week including Boxfit Tuesdays, Zumba Wednesdays, HIIT It Thursdays, and #SweatSaturday. Snacks and toys available for kiddos.

All welcome- all ages, bodies, fitness goals and abilities - participation in the challenge is not compulsory either, casual visits welcome! No need to book.

Check us out on Facebook (Fitclub at the Hub) to learn more about our fab community fitness group. We'd love to meet you!

Why are their huge trucks going up Hackthorne Road at night?

Graeme from Cashmere

Does any know why there are huge heavy laden trucks going up Hackthorne Road in the evening until late and where they are going to? It's a hell of a racket and and keeping the children awake, not to mention the vibrations coming off the road. It's been two nights in a row.
