National Volunteer Week is next week! (17-23 June). We’ve been busy collecting quotes to reflect our NVW theme:
“Volunteers, The Heart of our Community – By many, the work will be completed, Mā tini, mā mano, ka rapa te whai.”

"In a perfect world, every suburb would have a neighbourhood Italian restaurant," I wrote.
Weeks later, neighbourhood Italian restaurant The Birdwood opened in Beckenham, and after giving them a chance to find their feet, I subjected the staff to the cruelest of tests: bringing four ravenous boys on a wet Saturday night.
When we booked, we had been warned that we would be at a high bar table and when I saw how packed the restaurant was when we arrived, I had to apologise as three boys had turned into four. Would that be a problem? It took some scrambling to find a spare chair but we were seated, no problem.

Hi all, :-)
I have a friend who is in desperate need of a stroller for the size of a 3 month old baby. It would need to be one that lays down. If anyone has the generosity to gift one on that would be absolutely amazing of you.
Please contact me ASAP
Thank you :-)

I noticed a washing machine on the kerbside while walking home this evening. It looks okay but not sure if it is in working condition. It didn’t rain so I think it should still be okay. Pick up 25 Lyndon street, Riccarton.
