She is an avid knitter and is currently knitting for premature babies. Sadly she is almost out of wool. Was wondering if someone had any they were happy to donate. I can pick up from your mail box, using gloves, transport to the reception desk at her Care facility and together we could help keep her meaningfully engaged and premature babies warm, during such an unusual time for us all. Thank you in advance.

Hi there Neighbours!

With numerous gigs, concerts and festivals postponed or cancelled as a result of the level 4 response, we want you to dance the lockdown away with the new Neighbourly Spotify Playlist! Make your suggestions in the comments below - recommend anything you like on there, as well as tunes you think your Neighbours will enjoy. Chuck in some taste-breakers, one-hit wonders or some good old Kiwi classics - it really doesn’t matter. So if you’re running out of ideas on things to do, why not a dance party?

Just remember: keep it PG, refrain from putting any songs in the mix that may cause offence to your Neighbours. You can find the playlist here.

Happy raving NZ!

Hey guys.
Just wanted to check in with our community again in our 3rd week of lockdown. We hope you and your families are all well and managing to get the supplies you need.

Good luck to all those parents with school restarting today, our teens are online with video calls for classes so huge demand on internet. Of course there were afew teething issues today with first classes of the day but the girls are getting there and Shan has very limited time to make noise in between.

Pip our advertising dog is loving extra attention with her people home 24/7 and Otto our pup actually started crying when he was put in create the other day, like he normally would when we go out, when we went for a walk around block without him.
A little reminder CHCH Bull Rescue posted at a similar time to stick with routines with your dogs of time outside alone or in crates if that's what they would normally do so when life returns to normal they dont have separation anxiety

Remember Elusion is providing essential Electrical service cover throughout this time. This means power, heating, ovens etc. If in doubt just ring. We are happy to give out phone advise as well.

Patrick is currently out installing a new heat pump for a client who's heat pump completely died and there is no other source of heating available. I have to say after 3 weeks of little jobs only it seems very empty without him at home.

Feel free to request quotes on non urgent jobs you need doing after lock down and book in jobs. We currently have a list of jobs in order to book in once we get go ahead that non essential jobs can happen.

Keep well everybody, stay safe
From our little team at Elusion Electrical

TIPS

Don from Parklands - Marshlands

1 For those with aging cats consider elevating their food bowl to their normal mouth height. (Those old telephone books you have stored in case 1995 - 2010 ever come back, or whatever excuse you still have them would be ideal). Our older parents appreciate their food to be fed to them so that they don't have to bend down (it restricts their food passage). So do our older felines.
2 Have difficulty turning door handles (arthritic maybe) or even when both hands are full and the door is shut - try using a couple of layers of masking tape (or duct tape)to cover the slot - it is much easier to pull and much easier to push the door without having to twist the handles as well.
It goes without saying (so often should be said?) - this tip doesn't apply to sliding doors or front or back doors - don't want to make it easier for the light finger brigade do we ?/?. Cheers all and stay safe.

With the current restrictions we aren’t able to print or distribute at the moment, but we are working hard on a fantastic May issue for you and it will be on sale as soon as the restrictions ease! I am hearing from so many readers right now about how their gardens have never been more important to them than they are now, so I want to ensure you get your NZ Gardener, packed with beautiful pictures, expert advice, inspiration and information as quickly as possible, so you can enjoy your own garden even more. Meanwhile, when you do your next shop, we’d love it if you could pick up a copy of the April issue which is on sale now (you can add a copy to your online shop too). As you’ve probably heard on the news it is a tough time for magazines right now, and we are incredibly grateful for the support of our regular readers and (especially!) our subscribers. If you are in a position to subscribe, or share your own love of plants and gardening by buying a subscription as a gift for someone else, then we’d be incredibly grateful: mags4gifts.co.nz.... Stay safe and enjoy the extra time in your garden everyone! Jo

Christchurch's Lynette Hartley has created a colouring-in drawing for Kiwi kids to enjoy during the coronavirus lockdown.

"I thought an activity for children with a positive message about the current situation would be a good idea. This followed my (and everyone else's) experiences during the earthquakes," she said.

"I learnt that it is important to give children a way of feeling empowered that there is a solution to the situation (in this case the bears catching the Covid virus and giving it a damn good soapy wash)."

Lynette normally works as a tour guide for Nature Quest, taking people on tours around the North and South islands with nature-related themes such as birding, general nature, plants, or walking.
