Mount Pleasant Pottery Group in conjunction with the Phillipstown Community Hub are running a class for 11-15 year olds with a focus on the pottery wheel.

Learn how to make pottery on the wheel, decorate your work and then have it fired and glazed like the pros do it! All FREE of charge, but you must register so get in quick. Preference will be given to Phillipstown kids and proof of address may be required.

Some experts say that has to change. It is such an existential threat that not to make it a requirement to teach children about climate change is doing them a great disservice, they say.

Ambitious proposals for a memorial to the March 15 terror attack response include a large ornamental water feature, a playground and a conference centre.

The New Zealand Federation of Islamic Associations has drawn up concept plans for a memorial to "capture the legacy of how New Zealanders all came together as one" after the shootings at two Christchurch mosques.

The architecture firm behind the concept plans, Apa Architects in Rotorua, estimated the project would cost between $10 million and $15m to build.
