Thinking of hiring a local contractor to do some renovations on your house? A good rule of thumb is to obtain more than one quote, particularly if you are investing a large sum of money.
- Do you know the difference between a quote or an estimate?
- Will you need to hire multiple contractors?

My names Brittany Kremers, I'm the chair person for the CDHB Youth Advisory Council. (CDHB YAC or YAC) The CDHB YAC is the only council within NZ that has youth focusing on youth only in the medical sector. We cover from Ashburton to the West Coast. Everybody on the YAC has had their own experiences in hospital with different medical conditions. Mine being that I've had cancer and have had a lot of after affects going on. (I'm currently sitting in the lounge on the ward I'm on in hospital as i write this)
We help any youth with any Illness no matter how big or small in any way we can. We Advocate, Support, Argue our point, Share youths opinions, Collect data, Supply youth with items when they first come in like toiletries and borden busters.
The CDHB YAC is running a Quiz night with a Silent auction/Raffles and we are looking for local businesses to donate items and in exchange we will put your logo on everything to do with the quiz event and our public Facebook page. You'd be supporting a fantastic organisation! keeping us supplying youth in need. Getting youths voices heard as we are the next generation

That was a big deal because despite a voluntary recall for Takata airbags floating around since 2013, the government – taking a page from the Aussies – decided to step in after realising the recall was progressing far too slowly, with less than a quarter of those affected in New Zealand replaced since 2013.
That kind of success rate, however, is surprisingly all too common for voluntary recalls. Consumer NZ estimates that “less than half” of product recalls actually work, and while it’s normally better for items where customers details are noted down (like cars), common household items that are cheap and easily replaceable (like indoor electric heaters) can remain in use months – even years – after a recall is issued.
Below is a selection of recalled items we think are most relevant to consumers (part two looks at items specifically targeted at babies and children). Of course, it goes without saying that this is by no means an exhaustive list – for that you need to be looking at the government’s official website.
