Cat Rescue Christchurch collection volunteers will be the Northlands Countdown from 9.00-6.00 taking money and cat food/litter donations from the public. We are right into the start of kitten session so costs are piling up. Last year our little volunteer organisation rehomed and desexed over 519 kittens/stray cats. Last year we also had over $100,000 spent on vet bills which were covered by the likes of the above collections.
I have attached a story I just compiled of wee Nelly, who came to us in last kitten session full of cat flu. Our director called her 'snorty piggy' due to her breathing difficulties as a result of cat flu but will lots of love and medical care got her up to a healthy level that she was able to go out to a foster prior to being put up for rehoming. The foster fell in love with her and she became what is called in our charity "a foster fail"....lol.
Your donations go towards the medical costs to get this wee furbaby up to the healthy level to have the chance of finding her forever home and love.
Would love to see you on Saturday.

It involves collecting - (which is no problem) sorting and packing unloved bras and sending them to the Pacific Islands - free of charge or if you're able to get funding, great! Then ensuring the contacts at the other ends are reliable! I have managed to send thousands over the 4 years I've been doing it, so have many contacts to pass on. Have a look at the website www.upliftbras.org...
Many Thanks Pauline

But for some families it's not an option - especially if you live in a rural area, or your kids go to a school on the other side of town. So tell us the main mode of transport by which your children or grandchildren commute.
Plus: Don't forget to join up to a Foot It Club at www.neighbourly.co.nz..., and go into the draw to WIN one of 50 Micro scooters.
