Many people setting up paddling pools for their children this summer will be breaking the law - are you one of them?
Any pool, fixed or portable, deeper than 400mm is now subject to safety provisions under the Building Act, meaning there a quite a few rules you probably aren't even aware of.
For example, do you have a 1.2-metre fixed childproof fence with a self-closing gate opening outwards?
What are your thoughts on paddling pool safety? If faced with an inspection, would your pool set-up pass? Do you think all these rules are essential? What are your tips for setting up a paddling pool safely?

My experience of POST HASTE COURIERS.🤬
On the 7th Jan I ordered a Golf Club and some Tees from Golf Warehouse in AKL as ChCh did not have what I wanted. Jan 8th got txt to say order has been shipped.9th Jan Nothing.10th checked my email with tracking number and outcome was it was here in ChCh.Rang PHC and was told by txt that courier will be delivering it Friday 11th Jan.Well come 5pm Friday Nothing,So got back on phone and office said the courier did not have anything else to deliver to Rangiora where I live and he would be here on Saturday(2day) @6am as he had another parcel to deliver @ 5.30am.Well yep you guessed ..it didnt come.😠So back on phone and let them know how disgusted I was over their lack of running a business.I have ordered items from USA and its been delivered in 3 days.NZ 5 days what a Joke.1pm Saturday I finally got my parcel. The delivery yard is only half hour from my place.
So as far as I am concerned POST HASTE COURIERS YOU STINK. Lets hope people who use your service see this and find another Courier to use instead of you.
