Crown rebuild company Ōtākaro says some deaths were inevitable, but plant experts say the work was poorly planned and done with no respect for the plants.

Road closure in Addington, Queen’s Birthday Weekend

Whiteleigh Avenue in Addington will be closed for a critical railway upgrade from 6:00am Saturday 2 June to 6:00am Tuesday 5 June. KiwiRail has contracted Fulton Hogan to carry out 24 hour work.
