You might notice a new addition to Victoria Square in the new year! A new $319,000 taxpayer-funded sculpture paying tribute to the Treaty of Waitangi signatories is likely to be installed in the Christchurch park.
The two 4.75 metre-tall upright waka, titled Mana Motuhake, is by carver Fayne Robinson, and commemorates the significant Treaty signatories and by extension would support the achievements and memory of Queen Victoria. To read more, click here.

Children suffering from unwell to life-limiting or life-threatening conditions, can spend numerous time in hospital, straining families financially, mentally and physically. This appeal relieves this strain on these families during this time of year.
I am asking for a donation of a gift for a child (ages 0-16), to be placed into the box at Heathcote Valley School office. I will collect these regularly until the last day of school (19 December). If you choose to wrap these can you please write on the gift whether it is for a girl or boy and the age.
