Our quote of the week.

NumberWorks'nWords Cashmere

The easy stuff is fun and quick, it’s true. However, to expand the mind, you must push it to its limits just as you would a muscle. The hard stuff makes you think; it causes you to re-read over and over again until you understand it. Challenge yourself every so often.

Christchurch is colder than the main North Island cities during winter, but is also drier than all the other main cities, and sunnier and less windy than Wellington.

“I would like to nominate and THANK our great neighbour's living at Viv Davie Martin Drive for their creativity and huge effort during lock down. They lifted all our spirits with their daily Teddy bear reenactment on how to keep busy. Each day people came to see what Teddy bear was up to. With keen interest kids in our neighbourhood even gave Teddy a proper name...meet Vincent LOL! It's through times like this that such acts of goodness should be acknowledged and the memories they hold forever treasured. A selected few photos of Vincent's daily lockdown activities "thanks Vincent :)"

Woods made the comment on Twitter on Thursday evening in response to a complaint from a member of the public about Christchurch’s lack of hospital parking.

"Please be assured that we understand just how much of a problem the lack of a carpark is. I have been working on the details of a solution that's pretty much there - more to say very soon," she wrote.

Has the lack of hospital parking been a problem for you? Where do you think a new parking building or site should go?

This has been approved and will be going ahead. - apparently, so I wonder what others think of these projects - are they a good priority? I would have thought before they attempt to attract more people to the suburb they would have got the town centre sorted out. As for a Native bird enclosure/sanctuary - why? The RED ZONE is going to be developed SOMETIME and planted with native vegetation which of course will become a natural bird, invertebrate, butterfly, and insect habitat.
I believe there are much greater priorities which should take preference.
