If you are going away in 2019, please consider me as a house sitter, an alternative to sorting out kennels and catteries. It's a great way to keep your house secure and safe while you're away.

I am a responsible, professional young person and I have references

I am available from the 21st of January onwards.

Feel free to contact me, miriamqualls@gmail.com 02040732283

Hi neighbours,

About 400 electric scooters (e-scooters) have been launched in Christchurch by California-based company Lime. The scooters can travel at speeds of up to 27kmh and have a maximum range of 48km. But not everyone is impressed, with some calling labeling the scooters as a "menace on footpaths". To read more about them, click here.

What are your thoughts on them? Will you give them a go? Will it be cheaper for you to scooter to work rather than drive and pay for parking? Or do you think they're a hazard for pedestrians? Share you thoughts with us in the replies below!

Stay safe out there this Labour Day Weekend! Any death on our roads is too many. We're committed to reducing death and injury on our roads. But we cannot do it alone, we need everyone’s help to keep our roads safe.

Note on speed threshold: Over the holiday period – 4pm on Friday 19 October to 6am on Tuesday 23 October 2018 – if you're detected by a safe speed camera exceeding the posted speed limit by more than 4 km/h, you are highly likely to be ticketed.

Be patient and considerate, don’t attempt to overtake other traffic unless it’s completely safe to do so. Share the driving if you can. If you can’t and you’re tired, distracted, or feeling fed up, pull over and take a break.

We’ll be out on the roads this weekend targeting known hot spots and risky behaviours such as speed enforcement, drug and alcohol testing, cell phone use, and seat belt checks. We know these are the four main behaviours which contribute to death and serious injury on our roads.

The public can free phone *555 from any mobile, using a hands free kit if you’re driving, to report any non-life threatening road incidents such as erratic driving, non-injury crashes, traffic congestion, breakdowns and obstructions to the highway. In an emergency always call emergency services on 111.
