But what is set to open in 2019? Which fences are coming down? Where will Christchurch folk be shopping and hanging out in the next 12 months?

We take a look at both public and private projects that are set to open in the eighth year since the earthquakes, further expanding Christchurch's offerings. Expect new retail and hospitality areas, food courts and co-working spaces, supermarkets and crucial road links.

They are Labrador X Border Collie both from the same parents born a year apart. They love walks and going to the groynes dog park. They are lovely natured and are used to children and other pets, we've had rats and currently have rabbits and a cat. They seldom bark unless someone is coming up the driveway. There are well behaved and Macguyver attended puppy school. They are both registered, and microchipped and neutered and are up to date with all their vaccinations. It's a really difficult decision to rehome my boys but they only deserve the best. Please reply to this message if interested or would like any further information. Thanks in advance Jeanine

Hi neighbours,

Many people setting up paddling pools for their children this summer will be breaking the law - are you one of them?

Any pool, fixed or portable, deeper than 400mm is now subject to safety provisions under the Building Act, meaning there a quite a few rules you probably aren't even aware of.

For example, do you have a 1.2-metre fixed childproof fence with a self-closing gate opening outwards?

What are your thoughts on paddling pool safety? If faced with an inspection, would your pool set-up pass? Do you think all these rules are essential? What are your tips for setting up a paddling pool safely?
