Note I have no idea of an answer hence asking it as it has puzzled me on and off for a few years now.
You may have seen the recent Stuff article about pictures of two galaxies colliding ? And the mention that Andromeda and our Milky Way galaxies will collide in about 4 billion years ?
I though that the universe was expanding which implies straight paths. If this was correct then none of these galaxies would ever get closer to each other. So how come they will, and others are, colliding as this implies some sideways movement ?? (There are a few other qualifications here but lets run with the question as stated).
This is still a comfortable bed .... however ... just moved to Halswell and lost the legs. The bed base and mattress have some sweat and water stains.
