King Size Mattress

Dannielle from Opawa - Saint Martins

I was actually looking for a recycling center that takes old mattresses but can not find one. If anyone wants it they are welcome to it for free. It's about 10 years old and is covered in stains from my cat who I got at the same time. Tried many times to wash it but stains never came out.

Part of a multimillion-dollar extension to Christchurch’s tram route is to be ripped up and replaced, just a year after it was built.

The new $3.6 million, 500m loop was only open for six months before it was closed in January when a tram derailed on the Poplar St bend.
Trams have been barred from using the section of track since.

Transport operations manager Stephen Wright said the council had investigated the cause of the derailment and determined it was a result of several factors, including areas where the track levels were “slightly out of tolerance”.
The tracks would be re-laid and upgraded, he said.

The council would not say how much this would cost or how much of the track had to be re-laid, claiming it was commercially sensitive information.

One of New Zealand’s leading tourism operators is selling off a number of businesses across the South Island, including Christchurch’s International Antarctic Centre.

RealNZ has announced plans for “future growth”, acting chief executive Paul Norris said on Wednesday, including changes to its portfolio of business to “better align to the organisation’s purpose” and its focus on inspiring an interest in conservation.

As well as selling the International Antarctic Centre, RealNZ is also offloading its Queenstown Jet Boats tourism business, Queenstown Ferry (water taxis), and the Stewart Island Lodge.

The company also owns the historic Walter Peak homestead on the shore of Lake Whakatipu, and is exploring new ways to “expand” guests’ experiences there. It hopes to sell its vessel Spirit of Queenstown to fellow tourism operator Southern Discoveries, with the boat continuing to provide trips to Walter Peak.

The Christchurch City Council has made a last ditch attempt to convince New Zealand’s water regulator to give the city an exemption from the Government’s chlorination rules.

Water regulator Taumata Arowai delivered a major blow to the council in May when it made a draft decision to decline the council’s application for a chlorine exemption.

The council originally had 10 days to respond, but after requesting two time extensions, submitted its response last week, in which emphasised it had a strong record of supplying safe drinking water to the community, bearing in mind the large and complex supply it managed.
It believed it should be enough to provide evidence that it was in progress of meeting Taumata Arowai's requirements.

A Taumata Arowai spokesperson said the entity needed to carefully and fully consider the new information provided by the council.
