After being closed for nearly a decade due to earthquake damage and the city's uncertain hospitality scene, Viaduct reopened at its new upstairs location on Oxford Tce alongside the Avon River in December.
The original bar was opened by Jonny Botherway in 1997 on Oxford Tce – then known as ‘The Strip' – and served as a popular after-work drinks and weekend space along with adjoining venue di lusso, also owned by Botherway. The area is now known as The Terrace.
Have you been to the new Viaduct yet? Did you ever go to the old one?

The 7-year-old grabbed it and while heading home, his dad, Brad Hinton, suggested they try and sell it online.
They hoped they might be able to double it with a $10 bid, but as the days went by the offers flooded in. Read more here.
