The ban, which prohibits any outdoor fires in the open air being lit, comes into force at midnight on Tuesday.
The Waimakariri, Selwyn and Hurunui districts remain in a restricted fire season which meant only permitted fires could be lit. If the scorching hot weather continues, those areas were also expected to be in a total fire ban by the end of next week.

Would have been terrifying for any children had there been any here.
There has been an increase in unrestrained dogs being walked in the area lately. What has happened to the ”responcable dog owners”. Not good enough people.
